Bagh Steinigidh

Bagh Steinigidh - The Outer Hebrides
February 2014

Bagh Steinigidh is near Borve and Scarasta on the Isle of Harris, and it is generally quite exposed to the Atlantic. You can see some pretty big waves here. It is a small sandy bay with some interesting rock formations, so there are many opportunities to take advantage of, whatever the weather.

This particular image was taken before sunrise, in very soft light. I used a ND filter to increase the shutter speed slightly, in order to apply a softer texture to the water. I elected to take a stance from higher up the shore, to make the most of this dynamic drainage channel in the sand, and emphasise its curvature.
