Loch Ba Sunrise

Loch Ba Sunrise - Landscapes and Lochs
This was one of those mornings that I will remember always. I arrived at the location with plenty of time to spare (unusual for me!). The loch was still and there was not a soul to be seen, there are few times that I can recall feeling such a sense of tranquility.

The overnight frost had left a crisp chill in the air, but as I sat on the grass watching the sunrise unfold I didn't want to be anywhere else.

For me, this image is mostly about the big rock in the foreground. It had quite a distinct arrangement of lichens and moss compared to the others nearby. As the warmth of the rising sun began to illuminate the moss, this provided a stark contrast to the frost covered lichen.
