Traigh Nisabost - Dusk

Traigh Nisabost - Dusk - The Outer Hebrides
February 2014

From the very top of the dunes at Traigh Nisabost looking towards Ceapabhal after the sun had set. From this higher viewpoint I primarily wanted to frame the scene so that the sand, water and background were in rough equal proportions.

With this one I quite liked how the elements came together i.e. there was a distinct linear 'base' in the sand at the waters edge, followed by a zone of fairly random shapes and textures, then followed by the water where the waves were coming in regularly enough to capture some more straight lines, then followed by a moody sunset and interesting clouds (phew!).

It was a privilege to be able to witness and capture this scene without another soul in sight, one of the main reasons why I love visiting the Hebrides outwith the tourist season.
